Travelers dream destination episode-1

Saka Haphong, travelers most awaited spot.

All the travel freak people out there always searching for new exciting places to visit. Today I want to introduce the highest peak of Bangladesh which is also known as Saka Haphong. It was first introduced by an English adventurer Ginge Fullen in 2006. It is situated between Thanchi, Bandarban, and the chin state of Myanmar. Locally it is also known as Mowdok Taung or Tiang Moy. It is 1052 meters or 3451 feet long.

For visiting Saka Haphong we have to go to Bandarban. From there we have to go to Thanchi Upazila. We can use either bus or four-wheeler jeep named chander gari (local language) to reach Thanchi. From Thanchi we can touch our summit from two directions. We can start from either Thanchi or from Remokkri.

Destination tracking:

From Thnachi:

Thanchi – Boarding Para – Sherkar Para – Tajingdong – Simpi Para -Handhari Para – Nefu Para – Summit.

Thanchi – Boarding para – Kaitang para- Simpampi Para – Hanjarai Para – Nefu Para – Summit.

From Remokkri:

Nafa Khum – Dula Para – Sajai Para – Nefu Para Summit.

Nafa Khum – Jinna Para – Amiyaakhum – Satvai Khum Hanjarai Para – Summit

Nafa Khum – Jinna Para – Amyakhum – Become Sajai Para – Summit

We can also use another route which is from Ruma Bazar. Those who want to visit Kreokradong and Saka Haphhong at a time can follow this route for their convenience.

From Ruma:

Boga Lake – Keokradong – Thaikang Para – Dulacharan Para – Hanjarai Para – Niphi Para – Summit.

Now here comes the most important part. We can stay at the villages that come at our path. They rent their residence for staying at night. They also arrange meals in exchange for money. We can also campfire if we can arrange tents and all other necessary kinds of stuff.

Necessary staffs:

We have to carry some tools as preventive measures. As we have to do trekking for a long period and have to walk through risky hilly areas we have to carry the following pieces of stuff with ourselves:

  • Torchlight
  • Oralsaline
  • Lighter
  • Pain killer
  • knife
  • Lightweight travel bag

Suggestions and request:

As we all are sensible citizen we should avoid throwing water bottles, chips packets, and other trash on the trail. Try to appoint a reliable guide for safety measures and smooth trekking. Without a guide, there remain chances of being lost on the trail.
